She was the elder sister of the three first counts Marcov (Ivanovich) and, consequently, without the right to use the title of countess; she was buried with her niece Varvara Nikolaevna Rimskaia Korsakova at Vagankov cemetery. Maria Ivanovna has a house in Moscow at Zemlianoy Val. The register of owners of buildings in Moscow confirms the previous known information that she was not married. Her house could be the perfect hiding for Ann Victoria, the secret wife of Count Nikolay Iraklievich, as it would not be suspicious for him to visit periodically his aunt. |
